Cello Talk 81: Calgary Talk IV: Stretching
April 20, 2010 by admin
Learning to stretch the left hand to cover larger intervals is an extremely useful component of cello technique. Here are some exercises, some examples of sensible stretching, and solutions for awkward positions.
Maestro,
thank you so very much indeed for your useful video for a better sautillé…tried the exercise yeterday pm (have been working towards some decent sautille bowing, for the past 2/3 months now) the bowing does actually turn into sautillé, however when I try to use the same bowing for the Goltermann etude/caprice…for example…the result is quite messy….the problem is that this bowing cannot be studied somehow slowly….
….che fare????
Grazie infinite per la dritta….e complimenti sinceri a lei.
Flavio from the eternal city.
