I just found your Youtube channel thanks to Mike Lunapiena, and i’m just devoring your videos over there and in here. You are great teacher.
i’m a classical dancer, and just started to learn violin and cello at the same time a few months ago. Don’t take formal classes with a teacher in a very regular manner, so i rely mostly on internet and the tools and teachers i’ve found there, and you are the greatest of all.
as a dancer i find very interesting your stretching, warming and strenghtening videos.
So far i have applied the endpin and cello alignment and feels great, no teacher have ever told me how to properly hold my instrument and being comfortable. I watched nearly all of your videos last night for almost 8 hours in a row… and can wait to start practicing many of your techniques and tips (as the timer, metronome, tuner exercises) or to make a specific wood stand as yours in your practice room. You should write a book.
Also found interesting and very alike in the valuable information level the violinmasterclass.com site.. i think there will be a “before and after” since i found your channel tahnk you very much
P.S. About the rosin u use… as a dancer we use a different kind of rosin for our shoes… but i know rosin is perfectly dilued on alcohol… would work to soften some cello rosin with bass rosin and then harden them again? as a mixture… don’t know the process but i might try on ballet rosin first 😛
