November 13, 2009 by admin
Fourth position is one of the most comfortable and often-used positions on the cello. It is the easiest position to find out of the blue because of the thumb’s comfortable location in the crook of the neck, and it both the last true lower position and a point of departure for the extended lower positions (5th, 6th and 7th) and the upper positions.
